Many machinery and equipment are operated under extreme conditions, and some of them are on the seabed at depths. Parts under these extreme working conditions need to withstand high pressure, and have performance of high mechanical-strength, high abrasion-resistance, high corrosion-resistance, and high impact-strength. Advanced ceramic components, such as zirconia, that are specially custom-made for those applications can easily comply with requirements. Ceramics are lighter than most metals and are stable at high temperatures than high-grade technical plastics, so structural ceramic applied in engines. Ceramic composite parts could work at 1500~1600°C in the engine, so lead to less fuel and more efficiently.
