Advanced ceramics are sorted into conductive ceramics, semiconductor ceramics, dielectric ceramics and superconducting ceramics according to their electrical properties, because the chemical bond and crystal structure of ceramic materials are much more complex than that of metal. For example, BN and AlN are high conductivity ceramic materials, which have very good application performance for occasion of both insulation and good heat dissipation, such as Substrate of Integrated Circuit. Parts made of Advanced Ceramics (Technical Ceramics) have special feature of wide range of electrical conductivity. Besides the electrical properties they also have magnetic properties. Compared with metallic materials, ceramics can often be made into smaller sizes and therefore be more economically, lightweight and more intelligent.
